On February 24, 2026, during an open dialogue between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and young people on the topic “Additional opportunities to support youth and their initiatives,” it was decided to declare every Thursday in the country “Youth Day.”

As part of this initiative, on February 26 at the Tashkent branch of the Russian Chemical-Technological University named after D.I. Mendeleev, a meeting was held between the executive director B. E. Nurmatov and the students and youth activists of the branch.

 During the open dialogue, priority areas of work were considered:

systematic and prompt resolution of youth issues;

organization of quality education based on modern methods and practice-oriented training;

creating conditions for the development and implementation of start-up projects, support of scientific and engineering initiatives;

formation of an effective system for holding sporting events, development of student sports and preparation of athletes for participation and victories in competitions at various levels;

building systematic work to employ graduates of the branch, expanding interaction with industrial partners and forming sustainable career trajectories.

 It was specifically emphasized that this work will not be limited to the walls of the branch. As part of the Youth Day, similar meetings, open dialogues and practical events will be held in nearby mahallas in order to support young people locally, identify their initiatives and provide assistance in education, employment, entrepreneurship and sports development.

 The meeting took place in a constructive and open atmosphere. Students presented their proposals and initiatives and identified current issues. Some of the requests were resolved directly during the discussion, and specific measures for further implementation were identified in a number of areas.

 The Youth Day format is becoming an effective tool for strengthening direct dialogue, supporting proactive youth and forming a generation of professionals focused on results and the development of the country.
