Biography and Career Milestones
N.Kh. Usanbaev was born in 1970 in the Shaykhantakhur district of Tashkent. In 1992, he graduated with distinction from the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology, embarking on independent scientific research in chemical technology.

Scientific Potential and Achievements
In 2008, N.Kh. Usanbaev successfully defended his candidate dissertation, and in 2018 earned his Doctor of Sciences (DSc) degree. His doctoral research entitled «Development of Technology for Producing Organo-Mineral Fertilizers and Ameliorants from Brown Coal of Uzbekistan» laid a solid scientific and technological foundation for the rational utilization of domestic raw resources, soil fertility enhancement, and the creation of environmentally safe organo-mineral fertilizer manufacturing technologies.
The scholar's peer-reviewed papers are consistently published in prestigious domestic and international high-impact journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. Professor N.Kh. Usanbaev makes a monumental contribution to elevating the institute's research caliber, implementing joint innovation initiatives with industrial partners, and training high-caliber young research professionals.

The Story of an Invention
🌱 Practical Implementation
Global Challenge and the Need for Solutions
Today, rapid global population growth, shrinking fertile arable lands, and depleting freshwater reserves make food security one of the most critical challenges facing humanity. A core objective of agriculture and the food processing industry is providing the population with safe, high-quality agricultural commodities. In this context, optimizing the manufacturing efficiency of mineral and organic fertilizers represents a paramount strategic priority.
Throughout the years of national independence, immense emphasis has been placed on delivering high-grade nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers, maximizing crop nutrient assimilation rates, and replenishing humus—the foundation of soil fertility. Restoring the physicochemical and land-reclamation integrity of saline and degraded soils required an integrated technological solution that seamlessly combines organic and inorganic raw materials.

Research Pathway and Technological Discovery Stages
To solve this complex problem effectively, Professor N.Kh. Usanbaev and the research consortium completed four in-depth, targeted technological phases utilizing local mineral and organic resources:
To produce coal optimally enriched with humic acids, the ideal oxidizing agent and thermodynamic oxidation parameters were systematically established.
An advanced extraction method was engineered to derive bioactive growth-promoting agents that stimulate seed germination and crop vigor via alkaline coal treatment.
A compression-granulation technique was devised through the joint mechanochemical co-activation of Angren coal and Central Kyzylkum phosphorites with acid modification.
A synthesis process for new-generation complex fertilizers was successfully deployed by integrating oxidized coal with ammophos, suprephos, phosphogypsum, and bentonite.
